Type Locality and Naming

Sapper (1937). Name appears on chart above David Fm. Middle Oligocene. In Chiriqui Province, the Río Majagua (presumed source of name) is one of numerous streams flowing southward from Volcan de Chiriqui, a tributary of Río David.
